STIR FRIED SPROUTS & CORN, Child-friendly, Easy-Peasy

Adults will go for them, too
Stir-fried Shredded Sprouts with Sweet Corn

Here's a recipe to make sprouts a little more appealing to children.  The sprouts are shredded for easy eating, stir-fried with stock and a little Worcestershire sauce for flavour and mixed with child-friendly corn niblets.

The bright green and yellow dish should go down a treat with everyone around the festive table.

Cost:
Serves: 3-4

Ingred:
   light vegetable oil
   500 gms/8 oz fresh sprouts
   100 ml good stock
up to 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, to taste
   pepper & salt
about 200 gms/3.5 oz drained (or defrosted) corn niblets

Method:
  1. Shred the sprouts (halve & cut in 1/8 in/1/4 cm slices OR use the coarse blade in a food processor); rinse
  2. Heat a heavy based large frying pan or wok on high heat
  3. When the pan is very hot, spray the base with veg oil
  4. Toss in the sprouts, stirring rapidly, for 1-2 minutes - try not to brown
  5. Add stock; reduce heat to med, cover & braise 1 mins or until veg is nearly done
  6. Add Worcestershire sauce, corn, pepper and salt.  Cover & leave for a minute
  7. Serve
