The pancakes are sweeter than 67 usually likes but the gorgeously fluffy sturdiness and lovely crispy brown edges are worth the calories. Maple syrup is replaced with Caramel Apple Sauce, using fresh apples.

Both batter and sauce can be made in advance. This recipe includes a healthier vegan option - butter and sugar-free with plant milk.
