HEALTHY BREAKFAST: APPLE SLICES WITH PEANUT BUTTER

Quick & easy breakfast. bursting with nutrition and deliciousness..

Crisp, juicy, nutritious and satisfying.  And did I say pretty?

67goingon50 doesn't know about you but sometimes oatmeal, eggs or toast simply doesn't appleal at  breakfast.

Berries are great, with or without yoghurt, but don't seem as filling.

Something that really fills the gap but has good protein, fat and anti-oxidants is a whole crunchy apple with peanut butter.

67 likes a crisp apple and the apparently UK grown 'new' Kissabel apples (pictured) are absolutely glorious - red or pink interiors, juicy, crunchy (in a good way; kids will love them!) and tasty with a hint of berry.

They're a lovely discovery though apparently they've been around for a few years.

67 has a single caveat -- the peel on the apples was greasy and tacky.  Once peeled, the interiors were absolutely fine; if you had the time, soaking the applies in a 90-10 solution of water and vinegar for 20 minutes might help.

Apparently the French started researching Kissabels 2 decades ago.  They are now grown in the UK, Germany, North and South America and Africa.

The Kissabels were on sale at M&S at 3 for £1...a terrific bargain.  If you can't find them, Granny Smith or new Coxes will do.
